
Danish-born Norwegian filmmaker and writer Joachim Trier received his first Oscar nomination for his latest film, 2021’s The Worst Person In The World. Although a few years have passed since then, Trier has been busy working on his upcoming project, which is set to be released soon: a new film titled Sentimental Value.
Early feedback suggests it’s definitely one to keep an eye on, as it was a contender for the Palme d’Or at Cannes this year (and even won the Grand Prix). Trier shared with Variety that after the film’s grand premiere at the festival, he felt “grateful and a bit exhausted, but most of all relieved.” He also described the film as an “emotional, personal piece of cinema” during that conversation.

Plot
The logline states:
“Sisters Nora and Agnes reconnect with their estranged father, the charming Gustav, a once-famous director who offers stage actress Nora a role in what he hopes will be his comeback film.
