
Former Swamp People cast member and renowned alligator hunter Junior Edwards has been honored by his castmates and family following his passing.
People reported that Edwards’ death was shared by several loved ones on Saturday, July 26, although the specific cause of death and his exact age have not been disclosed. Earlier this month, Junior’s grandson, ‘Lil’ Willie Edwards, hinted on social media that the reality star was experiencing health issues.
In a heartfelt Facebook memorial post, Willie reminisced about Junior: “Rest easy pawpaw….i know your probably running your hoop nets or doing something crazy inside those pearly gates…you will be extremely missed pawpaw we love you more than anything!!! Until we meet again.”
Junior was also remembered by his former Swamp People co-star Ashley ‘Deadeye’ Jones, who shared on Instagram that “the world lost a legend.”

“Mr Junior Edwards has passed away,” Ashley informed her followers. “Please keep the family in your prayers! He was one of the finest alligator hunters out there! A true hardcore outdoorsman! I witnessed this man catch MONSTER gators at Duffys Gas Station in Pierre Part LA. This was after a long day for both of us, and you could see it!”
Swamp People fans reacted to Ashley’s post by offering their condolences and expressing hope that the History reality show will honor Junior’s legacy in some manner.
“I hope the show pays tribute to the legendary Mr Edwards, forever loved & missed rip,” one fan commented, while another added: “That’s very very sad ….. sending prayers.”
