JID is set to release a new album titled God Does Like Ugly this August. However, before that, he’s adding a twist to the usual deluxe editions with GDLU Preluxe, a mixtape that will drop on July 4. While it’s not uncommon to have an EP or a small collection of songs before an album, the name is pretty cool. Recently, he dropped a track called “32 (Freestyle)” and now he’s back with another one, “Beau,” which is a fun four-minute song that highlights his unique lyrical skills.
JID has been quite active lately. Back in March, he confirmed that the new album was complete, stating, “It’s done. It’s turned in. It’s coming really f**king soon. It’s been a long time in the making. All the ‘T’s are crossed, and the ‘I’s are dotted. I think we’re in a good position to build this new world that I’ve been working on for the past couple of years.” He also took the stage at the final Dreamville festival, where he gave fans a sneak peek of his now-released single “Wrk.” Plus, he recently collaborated with Offset on the track “Bodies,” which samples Drowning Pool.
