In Trump’s Washington, ‘You Don’t Leave Home Without Your Lawyer’

There’s a lot of work for lawyers in the nation’s capital these days: Over 400 lawsuits have been filed against President Trump’s administration since the start of his second term.

A recent New York Times article notes the unprecedented surge in legal activity against President Trump’s administration, with over 400 lawsuits filed—mainly in Washington, D.C.—since the start of his second term. The article highlights how this political climate has led to an increased demand for legal services, as major law firms and public legal organizations take on a significant volume of work to challenge the administration’s policies. Foley Hoag Senior Counsel Gregory B. Craig, remarked, “This is a good time to be a lawyer in Washington. Good lawyers, like other humans, want to be wanted. And these days in Trump’s world, whether you’re an immigration lawyer or a university president or the head of an independent agency, you don’t leave home without your lawyer.”
