Ethel Cain, also known as Hayden Anhedönia, started the year with her new project Perverts, following her breakout debut album Preacher’s Daughter in 2022. In March, she revealed another upcoming album titled Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You, and in June, she released the track “Nettles.”

Today, July 2, she drops another new song: “F*ck Me Eyes,” a powerful, synth-driven anthem. Cain shared in a statement:

“Continuing with the theme of high school anxieties, ‘F*ck Me Eyes’ (which also pays tribute to one of my all-time favorite pop songs, ‘Bette Davis Eyes’) is an ode to those girls who seem perfect and have it all, yet are labeled as the town slut. The stunning blonde who feels lonely and just wants love, the one that adults gossip about, who is both despised and desired by everyone. I penned the start of this song five years ago, making it the oldest demo on the record. As the narrative developed, I realized it had a more significant role on the album than I initially believed. This track captures Ethel’s mixed emotions for the girl she thinks has caught her crush’s attention, along with her 16-year-old perspective on it.”
